About the College
There are many factors which combine to give Bridgwater College its award winning
reputation. We are proud to be a recipient of the prestigious Queen's Anniversary Prize.
These prizes are awarded to relatively few universities and colleges in the UK for
outstanding quality and innovation and in recognition of 'world class education'.
We are one of just six colleges in the South West to have Beacon College status, in
recognition of our outstanding practice across all areas of the College. We have also been
awarded seven national Beacon Awards in recent years, including for College/School
Partnerships, Inclusive Learning and Improving Quality and Standards.
With an attractive and well-maintained campus, Bridgwater College is one of the best
resourced colleges in the region, with an annual budget of £30 million. Our new centre
for health and fitness, along with a beauty and hair salon recently opened at a cost of
£8 million.
Facilities & Student life
Being a student at Bridgwater College isn't just about gaining a qualification. Student life is also
about getting involved, meeting new people and making new friends. We have a very mixed student population,
which includes a number of mature students and international students. There are lots of extra-curricular
activities and an exciting calendar of social events, all of which should ensure you have a good time outside
the classroom.
We are justifiably proud of the facilities at Bridgwater College. You will have access to high quality
classrooms and workshops, and an extensive range of well resourced facilities. Our on-site Travel Agency
(an ABTA member) provides a full search and booking facility for students, staff and the general public.
Our experienced Travel Agents, along with student trainees, are happy to help with holidays, educational
visits and group bookings for concerts and shows.
